Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa

We just went to see this movie tonight. We all loved it! Especially since there were so many plane references. (we're kind of dorks)
I thought I'd post some of the quotes that I liked:
Kowalski:[the plane has crash landed and the penguins are looking at a clipboard] Only two passengers unaccounted for, Skipper.
Private: That's a number I can live with! Good landing, boys! Who says a penguin can't fly?

Melman: Listen Moto Moto. You better treat this lady like a queen because you my friend, you found yourself the perfect women. If I was ever so lucky to find the perfect women I would give her flowers everyday and not just any flowers, okay? Her favorites are orchids, white, and breakfast in bed... six loaves of wheat toast with butter on both sides, no crust. The way she likes it. I'd be her shoulder to cry on and her best friend and I'd spend everyday trying to think of how to make her laugh. She has the most, most amazing laugh. Well that's what I would do if were you.

Alex: I wanna prove to my dad that I'm a *real* lion.
Marty: As opposed to what, a *chocolate* lion?

Private: In case of a loss of oxygen, please place your masks over your faces to hide your terrified expressions from the other passengers.

Julien: [after Melman has announced he has only 48 hours to live] "If I had only two days to live, I would invade a neighboring country, and force my ideology on them, whether they wanted it or not."

Is this what it's come to?

Please take the time to watch this video. I cried when I watched this.
This young man killed himself from overdosing at 3am. No one called the cops until 3 in the afternoon. Not a single person tried to stop him, although 10,000 people were commenting.
As some of you know, I am a big supporter of the LOVE Movement. People like this man are exactly the ones that need our help.
Pray for him, and for his family.

KCYC: Sex is not a dirty word

Last weekend some girls from my youth group went to KCYC (Kansas City Youth Conference).
There were lots of talks, but this was one of my favorites. I took lots of notes and wanted to share them with you all.

He started off his talk by asking everyone the question "what was the first commandment in the Bible?" Some said 'love God' others said 'love your neighbor', but he replied with:
GENESIS 1:28: "Be fruitful and multiply" GOD SAID HAVE SEX! Having sex is not wrong, it is only wrong outside of marriage.
He then showed us a camera. He said "now if my wife gave me this camera, its mine right? So I can do with it whatever I want to, right? So if I throw it on the floor, its ok because its mine...right? It might not work very well in the future when I need it, but its mine, so I can use it how I want. Well in the same way God gave us the gift of sex. But if we use it before marriage, then it won't work the correct way when we need it."

The Catechism of the Catholic Church says that "sex is meant to be a joy and a pleasure". The Church is not against sex.

In the Bible Jesus calls us His sons and daughters. And if Christ is the King, then we are all princesses. How many times do girls today forget this? We think that we are not good enough, when really, no one else is good enough for us!

The world has two arguments with Chastity:
1. The Church is Old Fashioned.
Yes the Church might be old fashioned, but God invented sex. He could have made 10,000 different ways to create children. He could have said touch foreheads and rub your knees together, but He didn't.
2. There going to do it anyways.
Well no, everyone is not going it! And if more teens knew that not everyone was having sex, the abortion rate would be a lot less!

Chastity doesn't happen over night. When a man has image imprinted on his brain, it can stay there for over 30 years. How many of you want some random guy at the mall, whom you don't know, remembering what you look like for the next 30 years? I didn't think so. God made the brain this way, so that on a couples wedding night, that man would remember it for the rest of his life. That's why old people look so cute together, because she is still the love of his life.
(ok this wasn't from KCYC, it was from my cousin, but I really liked it!)

I will be posting things from the other talks at a later time. Enjoy!

A Thanksgiving Poem by Andrew Wallace

Everybody's lives are full of wants.
Everybody's lives are full of needs.
Nobody cares about what they've got.
Nobody can recognize their own greed.

Everybody knows somebody
who somebody has shown to love,
and somebody knows everybody
who somebody can't get enough of.

But today the world stops
to look at what they've got.
Today everybody stops
to thank God for what they've got.

Everybody knows somebody
who somebody needs to thank,
and God knows that everybody
owes somebody a great big thanks.

I'm happy I know you,
and I thank God that I do.
I've thanked God already,
and now it's time to thank you.

Thank you for helping
God deserve his thanks.
He gives us everything
and you help him make it great.

This day is the day
We give thanks to God above,
but why not every day?
why can't the world always love?

I want you to know
that, Thanksgiving or not,
I'm thankful you're in my life,
I'm glad about what I've got.

I never know when the last time
I'm gonna see you will be,
So I'll try to tell you all the time
that you're always special to me.

This is my first Thanksgiving poem,
I've never written one before,
and I've decided that every year,
I'll give this to the ones that I'm truly thankful for.

TWILIGHT

Ok for the record, Twilight was AMAZING!

It was everything that I wanted it to be, and so much more.

A friend through Koble wrote this about Twilight:

Alright so this is an adventure...I've never written a note before. Ever. Never ever never...until now. How dramatic.
Anyway, the reason I'm writing this is because I have something I'd like to tell the world. I am a Twilgiht fan. And no it's not because I think Edward is a hawtie, or because I want to be Bella so I get to be with Edward the hunky, hunky vampire. It's because it's a good book and people need to deal with that. It's not amazing as far as writing goes. There are better books out there. But the characters are interesting. They are realistic. You believe them when you read it. And for moments in time, I get to experience the a world of vampires. Even more than that,I experience a world were love exists in fantastical forms. The plot is pretty darn good, too.
If you don't like it. Fine. Cool. Whatever. But stop rolling your eyes at us who do. Not all of the Twilight fans are complete and utter fluffheads who only read the book, or see the movie because of Edward. I love the movie. I love the book. And I'd love it if people weren't all condecending about it. I'm not an idiot for being able to enjoy a good book.
So what if it's cheesy? Romeo and Juliet is cheesy. Tons of people try increadibly hard to avoid being cheesy. They think it's fake. The only reason it's fake is because the people in this world cannot bring themselves to love fully, truly, and unconditionally. If we all did that, the world would be full of cheesy kodac moments. Because sometimes what we as human beings feel is completely irrational...and just unrealistic....we feel larger than life...or full of love....and we're told that it's a fake feeling and what we need to feel should have a deep philisophical meaning if we want to be intelligent individuals. But not all of us do that...heck, most people can't feel like that. If you overthink a feeling, then it ceases to be a feeling...it becomes your impression of what you thought you felt at that particular moment in time. It becomes less of a feeling and more of a theory.
Ok. I'm done now. And frankly I feel increadibly silly for writing this whole thing. But I figure I should write one note-blog-thing at some point in my life. Why not now? So yeah. How does one end a note, anyway?
Hm. Well. Um. Bye.

Last night all the girls got together for Becca's 16th Birthday!
She decided that soup, dictionary games, and a scary movie would make an ideal day!
(We are a tad bit strange!)
Over all I thought that The Village was very good. I can't say too much about it without giving the whole thing away. But it was a good love story, with a scary twist. It had me on the edge on my seat the whole entire time, and I only screamed once!
It was a good way to show that there will always be sorrow in the world. No matter how hard we try to run from it, we never can. An ideal world doesn't exist. People will never be perfect. It was a good eye opener and it really made me think about my life and the way I live it. I think sometimes we forget that it could all be gone in only a matter of minutes. Cherish what you have. Live every day to the fullest.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BECCA!

GET OUT AND VOTE!!!

Todays the election!
Make sure you make time to get out and vote!
(your life depends on it!!!)

The lies they feed you...

Using an undercover camera, Students for Life of America (SFLA) has produced new evidence that infanticide "does happen" at Planned Parenthood abortion clinics. When asked by a pregnant mother if her baby could be born alive at a New Jersey clinic, the nurse responded, "It does happen, but it wouldn't be able to survive on its own so eventually the baby does die." The tape, one in a long line of incriminating videos released to the media, was posted on YouTube to show Planned Parenthood's refusal to comply with the federal Born-Alive Infants Protection Act. Just days later, YouTube removed the post, saying it "violated the web site's terms of use." YouTube may turn blind eye to these injustices, but the U.S. Congress should not. Time after time, the leadership on Capitol Hill has refused to investigate Planned Parenthood, one of the biggest beneficiaries of your taxpayer dollars.Instead of freezing its funds, liberals are seeking ways to increase them! Before you vote for the next class of congressmen, make sure you know where your candidates stand on taxpayer-funded abortion.
