This was my French Diction debut, and I think it went quite nicely.

There's nothing quite like singing a song that Debussy wrote when he was 18 to really make you feel like you've accomplished nothing... But no worries, next week I plan on writing something that will knock his socks off!

Okay, that's a lie. However, I am going to starting recording (yay!). My amazing vocalist (also named Megan) has agreed to sing while I play the piano. We're starting with 'Eet' by Regina Spektor and 'Almost Lover' by A Fine Frenzy. Hopefully I will acquire some Nora Jones sheet music, and we'll just keep going from there! I'll be sure to post it here first, so check back soon!

There's never seems to be enough time in the day anymore! I feel so horrible that I've let my blog go for so long....

But alas, know that I am well! I think of you all constantly, and wonder if anyone misses my meaningless banter.

I am loving this photo right now. It's called 'Helmeted Kisses', and it's the current background of my Mac. It was taken in Paris, and every time I see it I smile.

Only a month left of school, which means everyone is freaking out. Piano is going well, and I'm consistently attending yoga classes (Mike and I go around listing everything that is "zen"; pesto pasta, sand volleyball, family dinners...)

I spent a wonderful Saturday with Miss Mason; including, but not limited to, facials and shopping at Forever 21. I also snuck in a quick visit with Adrienne, who's baby belly is just as cute as can be!

With Dad's weekend this Saturday, and Spring Formal the next, I fear the month will fly by. And before you blink twice, I will have finished my freshman year of college! (I consider it a success that I've only changed my major once from Piano Performance to Piano Education) (never fear, there will be many more indecisive moments to come!)

As they say in The King's Speech "I would love to (write more), such a treat, but alas.... a previous engagement (studio class). What a pity. "

Liszt Valse oubliee No.1

My book club at Truman has decided to read The Time Traveler's Wife for next's months meeting. Although I've already read it, it's reminded me how much I adore Rachel McAdams. Let's face it, she's gorgeous. She's adventurous with her fashion style, and has successfully carried off many different hair styles and colors. Vintage, Modern, Classic; they all are flawless on her.

The BSU across the street from my dorm has been playing Christmas music for about 18 hours a day, for the past five days. Tis the season...

Although my Black Friday was spent driving across the waste lands of Minnesota (now say it in that stupid sounding voice that obviously is from a movie a failed to see in my adolescent years), I did manage to buy a gorgeou

s dress and a fabulous pair of shoes for the formal this Saturday (surprise Mom!). I'll have another post next week with a full report on the event!

In the mean time, I did want to write a quick little post about winter fashion and a few tips that I have.

1. Layers are your new best friend! I personally love cardigans, and a tank top and a deep v-neck work wonderfully together.

2. Own a comfortable pair of boots that are also fashionable. That way, on the days when you're hiking across campus in the snow, you can still put together a cute look. Erin recently got a great pair of brown leather Ugg boots and they make everything look better. They remind me of England for some reason.

3. Deep condition your hair weekly, and avoid over styling. The cold weather is not only harsh on skin, but hair too. Be nice to it.

4. A patterned pair can add so much to a cute dress

or skirt. In all actuality, there isn't a lot of difference between the expensive and cheap pairs. None of them will last very long, and you will end up snagging them sooner or later. Forever 21 has great sales on tights this month, so stock up while you can!

5. Myth: Brown, black and gray can not be worn together. False! They are all neutrals, and are the same color scheme.

The holiday season is the one time of the year where you can't bring out the bling! Silver is a great way to go, and the red coat adds a great pop of color.
